Established in 2021 as a tax-exempt not-for-profit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, the Susan Kay Matthew Foundation is a family-run charitable foundation that aims to improve the lives of individuals, children, families, and the environment. Through strategic partnerships and charitable donations to trusted service providers, our goal is to provide resources and support where they're needed most. We are dedicated to making a positive impact on the world and addressing the critical issues our communities face.

Board Chair
Susan Kay Matthew
Gainesville, Florida
Susan (Sue) Matthew has several decades of experience as a personnel manager, having worked in various settings, including hospital administration. She holds a Bachelor's in Government from the University of Southern Illinois at Carbondale and a Master's in Labor and Industrial Relations from Michigan State University.
Sue's passion is her family. She is Mom to four daughters (her co-Board Members), Grandma to five grandkids, and has been blissfully married to her husband, Jim, for over 50 years.
Sue is also an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and is an avid genealogy researcher of all family branches.
Sue is dedicated to helping children, foster children, families, and the oceans. Her kindness, generosity, and heart of gold are the soul of the Foundation.

Executive Director & Board Member
Lenore Matthew
Honolulu, Hawaii & Gainesville, Florida
Lenore has worked in the not-for-profit sector since 2007 and has volunteered since childhood. As a former research and evaluation specialist, practitioner, and program manager for organizations including the United Nations, Lenore holds expertise in program evaluation, evidence-based practice design, non-profit management, and grant writing as well as trauma treatment and integrative health and mental health care.
Lenore received a Ph.D. and Master's in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a Master's in International Relations from Dublin City University in Ireland, and a Bachelor's in Business from the University of Oregon.
Lenore is passionate about nature, active living, spending time with friends and family, and giving back to her community. In her free time, she teaches yoga and meditation classes. She also loves to travel and is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.

Amy Matthew
Orlando, Florida
Amy is passionate about animals, art, and music, and blends all three in her work and daily life. For over 20 years, she has worked as a Veterinarian Assistant, caring for all kinds of domestic and wild animals.
In addition, Amy is a professional artist, working primarily as an abstract artist, as well as an accomplished lyricist. She has been a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) since 2002, and has collaborated with many artists and musicians both domestically and internationally.
Amy graduated with a Bachelor of Illustration from the Ringling College of Art and Design, and completed postgraduate studies in Commerce Media.
Amy cares deeply about the ocean, creating, and spending time with her dog, whom she is currently training.

Jennifer Matthew Johnson
Minneapolis, Minnesota
Jennifer has 20 years of experience as a finance executive across multiple industries, including real estate, retail, manufacturing, and technology. Jennifer’s career has focused primarily on small to mid-cap companies, both public and privately held, with an emphasis on entities undergoing significant financial transactions.
Previously, Jennifer spent several years as the Chief Financial Officer of a technology manufacturer, with oversight of Legal and IT.
Jennifer graduated with Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
Jennifer is passionate about gardening, sports, reading, and spending time with her family and pets. She adores her two sons and loves seeing them grow.

Danielle Matthew Sweeney
Tampa, Florida
Danielle has 12 years of experience in healthcare and business development, as well as technical expertise in grant writing and government grant strategies.
Danielle has overseen diverse teams and helped them grow both personally and professionally. She has worked as a Coaching Strategist and is very dedicated to personal development.
Danielle received her Bachelor’s degree in Public Health from San Francisco State University.
Danielle has a passion for underserved communities and commits her life’s purpose to creating change in these areas. She is very active at her local church, where she serves in Ministry. She is dedicated to her family and loves being Mom to her three wonderful children.
